Intro to Mindfulness in Judaism w/Barry Nobel

Mindfulness in Judaism

with Barry Nobel, JD, PhD

November 14 & 21, 7:00 – 8:15 pm
Classroom 9

$18 for members; $36 for non-members

Although mindfulness has become very popular during the past two decades, it is less well known that the development of mindfulness lies at the heart of a Jewish way of life. We will explore the benefits of mindfulness practice and its role in leading a fulfilling Jewish life. We will also practice together (in short stretches) and examine ways to overcome the major obstacles to developing a dedicated practice. Beginners & experienced practitioners alike are welcome!

Barry Nobel, JD, PhD has taught Jewish Mindfulness at Beth Israel & Beit Am in Oregon, and Kavanat HaLev in California, as well as at Reconstructing Judaism Conventions. He is a retired mediator, university & law school instructor. Barry is a co-founder of the Jewish Mindfulness Havurah that currently meets on zoom on Monday mornings (all are welcome).
